Kids in the Kitchen Parties

Is your child having a birthday party? Try something new and unique, great fun for all, whether getting your hands sticky and licking the spoon or bowl, or as a spectator watching the kids cook up a storm. Have the party with us! Particularly enjoyable for children's parties where the age is varied as all children enjoy cooking, with assistance given to those who require help, whilst those capable are left to explore their own abilities. The kids will have fun making and eating their creations!

We suggest keeping these parties smaller, to ensure everyone has fun. Our prices are based on 10 children, but we can offer prices per extra child.

Children dress up in aprons, have their own bowl and make the recipes for the theme chosen by the birthday child. What they cook is taken home as their take home gift therefore party bags, etc are not necessary.

After the cooking session, whilst we bake the children's creations, the children are merrily engaged in playing fast moving and action packed, age appropriate games, eg. musical bumps, forfeit pass the parcel, duck duck goose, statues, hokey pokey, simon says, etc.

Party Themes
Prices include a Party Host, one of the themes below, all cooking supplies and ingredients, all cooking utensils, and a plastic apron for each participant to wear during the party.

Payment and cancellation policy

• A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to reserve a date and time for your party.
• The party date and time must be confirmed by us prior to the deposit being made. The deposit will be applied to the total cost of the party.
• We will ask for a final confirmed number of guests 5 days in advance of your party. This will be the minimum guest total charged to you. The balance of the party is due on arrival the day of the party.

For younger children (2 – 10 years)

Please note the ages indicated on each recipe is a rough guide of the appropriate age required.

Hi-5 Hands (3-7 years):
Children trace around their hand as the template for the hi-5 hands (younger children with smaller hands will make two, older children will make one). Children divide the dough into small balls. Forming sausage shapes with each ball they then fill in the traced hand and decorate according to taste – finger nails bracelet etc with the appropriate chocolates and sprinkles.

Wands and Swords (2–5 years):
Dough is divided into several balls. One ball is flattened into a round disk on the centre of the baking sheet, followed by the rest of the balls placed around it and pinched to form points. Two tone chocolate flavour is often chosen for effect. A wooden stick is placed under the biscuit to form the lollipop effect and decorated with colourful chocolates and sprinkles. Single or two tone chocolate flavour swords are a good alternative for the boys present at the party.

Cheese Straws (5–12 years):
A savoury pastry with grated cheese either rolled out and cut into strips twisted and egg glazed and sprinkled with sesame/poppy seeds, or for young participants – divided into small balls, hand rolled into fingers glazed and sprinkles.

For Tweens (8 – 13 years)

Idols Party (OR High School Musical Party OR Hannah Montana Party):
You and your friends all become final contestants at our Idols Party! We'll cook up some fun by making Pizza CD's, and decorating Star Shaped Sugar Cookies; the perfect way for your friends to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!

Spa Party:
Treat yourself and your guests to a spa experience like no other! Create Spa-licious Fruit Smoothies, and Fruit Pizza Tarts OR Vegetable Pizza. You and your guests will love this party!

Hawaiian Luau:
Feast on these tropical treats at your Luau; Hawaiian Pizza, and Fruit Kabobs,. If there's still time left over we'll hula-dance and limbo the time away! Lei's and grass skirts are provided for the fun!

Pirates of the Caribbean:
Ahoy Matey! Celebrate your Birthday with a meal fit for a pirate! Your little pirate will make Golden Chicken Nuggets served with Dead Mans Blood (tomato sauce), and Cupcakes with Secret Treasures.

Pricing

• Our basic package price is R1000 for a party with up to 10 children. Additional guests are charged at R100 per person.
• Party length is 2 hours and we can accommodate groups of up to 20.
